Built for machine shops and manufacturers
Run Your Shop on Systems, Not Spreadsheets.
We build custom software and AI for shops that make real things. Quoting, scheduling, paperwork, follow-ups, all built around how you actually work. You own what we build, and it comes from an operator with 20 years on the floor, not a software vendor.

The Problems We Fix
Your Team Shouldn't Be Doing Work AI Can Handle.
Hours disappear every week into tasks that don't need a person. They need a system.
Slow, manual processes
Repetitive administrative work
Missed follow-ups and cold leads
Software that does not talk to each other
Manually creating quotes
Copying and entering the same data twice
Searching for documents and answers
Answering the same questions over and over

We identify repetitive work and build AI around your workflow.
Live Examples
Interactive examples, live right now
Don't take our word for it: these are real, working systems you can use this minute. Feed them your own RFQs, parts and paperwork, change the rules, and watch them adapt. This is what we build, tuned to your shop.
Five live systems, every rule in them is what we tune to your shop when we build yours.
What We Can Build
The Work Between the Machines.
Your machines are not the bottleneck. The quoting, the paperwork and the chasing are. We build systems for that part, around the way your shop already runs. Start with one and add the next when it earns its place.
RFQ & Quoting Systems
Emails, PDF drawings and spreadsheets become structured line items, priced against your rates, with anything unusual routed to your estimator. No more retyping a customer's request into your system.
Instant Estimating
Ballpark numbers in minutes so the buyer gets an answer while they still care. Your rules decide what quotes on its own and what stops for a human.
Lead Follow-Up & Qualification
Nothing sits in a folder. New leads get qualified and every quote gets followed up automatically, so the warm ones never go cold while you are on the floor.
Reporting & Document Processing
POs, invoices and packing slips read, math-checked and turned into clean data and reports before they ever reach your ERP or your bookkeeper.
Customer Support Assistants
Customers and your front office get order status and answers without walking out to the floor to interrupt somebody. Complaints and emergencies hand off to a person.
Connect Your Existing Software
Custom workflows that tie the tools you already run into one flow, so information stops getting copied by hand from one screen to the next.
What You Actually Get
The Point Isn't the AI. It's What It Does for You.
A system is only worth building if it moves a number you care about. Here is what these actually change.
Lower operating costs
The same work gets done without the hours, the overtime, or the extra headcount it used to take.
Faster response times
Quotes, answers and follow-ups go out in minutes instead of days, while the customer still cares.
Fewer mistakes
The system does the copying, the math and the checking the same way every time, so less slips through.
Better customer service
Nobody waits on the one person who knows the answer. Your customers get a response right away.
More capacity, without hiring
Handle more work with the team you already have, and hire because you are growing, not just to keep up.
The Process
From First Call to Working System.
A clear, proven path, so you always know what happens next.
- 01
We Find the Bottleneck
We look at how your week actually runs and find the work that is slow, manual, or falling through the cracks.
- 02
We Design & Build It
We build the system around your real process, with your rules, sized to the workflow and quoted up front.
- 03
Your Team Tests & Approves
You run it on real work and sign off before anything touches a customer. Nothing goes live that a person did not approve.
- 04
We Launch, Manage & Improve
We put it into production, keep it running, and make it better over time as your business changes.
Why Go North Systems
Built by an Operator, Not a Software Vendor.
Go North Systems was founded by a manufacturing operations leader who spent 20+ years fixing shop workflows the hard way. We diagnose the process first, the way you would, and only then point AI at it. That order is why this works.
20+ years in manufacturing ops
Two decades leading manufacturing operations. We have chased late quotes and bad paperwork from inside the plant, not from a pitch deck.
Metro Detroit based
Local to southeast Michigan. When a walkthrough of your floor or office beats a video call, we show up.
English & Español
Fully bilingual service for your team, your customers, and the AI systems we build for both.
Proof
We Don't Just Recommend AI Quoting. We Built One.
Quoting is the number one bottleneck we hear about. So rather than tell you it can be fixed, here is one you can go use right now.
PartGuys.io
From Prototype to Production. Made in Michigan.
An on-demand manufacturing business in Michigan: 3D printing, CNC, sheet metal, molding. We built the instant quoting system behind it, and we manage it on an ongoing plan. The part that matters to you is the quoting. In most shops a quote waits days on the one person who knows the pricing. Here, you drop in a CAD file and it prices the part on the spot.
We are not describing what AI could do for your quoting. We built it, it is live, and it prices real parts for real customers every day.
What it actually does
- Upload a CAD file: STL, STEP, OBJ or 3MF
- It reads volume, complexity and best orientation, then prices it
- Material, complexity and processing broken out, not a black box
- Pick your speed and check out, no minimum order
Do not take our word for any of this. Open it and press the buttons.
The same thinking, applied elsewhere. These two are illustrative, not client results, and we label them that way on purpose.

Common Questions.
Neither do we, and that is the point. We do not build systems that fire a firm price at your customer behind your back. We build an estimator: it reads the RFQ, gives a ballpark in minutes so the buyer knows if they are in the right zip code, and routes anything unusual straight to you with the drawing attached. You still price the job. What changes is that you stop spending your morning on the RFQs that were never going anywhere.
Custom work is exactly where the time goes, so that is where we start. We are not trying to price the weird one automatically. We are trying to sort the weird one from the eighty percent that looks like work you have already done, so your estimator spends the day on the jobs that actually need judgment. The rules for what counts as weird are yours, and you can change them any time.
You do, completely. Machine rate, setup fee, material minimums, order minimum, gross margin, quantity breaks, lead times: every number in the estimate comes from settings you own, and none of it is a black box you have to trust. On the live demos you can open the settings tab and change any of it yourself, then watch the quote reprice in front of you. Your real system works the same way, except the numbers start as yours instead of our demo defaults.
Yes, and this is usually the first thing we set up. You decide whether a customer sees a firm price, a range, a lead time only, or nothing at all until you release it. You decide which lines auto-send and which sit in a queue for you. Plenty of shops run it in silent mode at first, where the system prices everything internally and sends nothing, so you can compare its numbers against your own for a few weeks before you let it talk to anybody.
Wherever you draw the line, and you can move it any time. The usual rules are a complexity ceiling, a dollar ceiling, a quantity ceiling, a machine envelope, a tolerance limit, materials you do not stock, and a minimum confidence for anything read off a document. Any line that trips one of those routes to your estimator with the reason attached, so you know why it stopped rather than just that it did. The demos on this site let you drag those thresholds around and watch jobs move between the automatic lane and the human lane.
Every field the AI pulls off a document carries a confidence score, and anything under your threshold stops and waits for a person instead of flowing into your system. The arithmetic is recomputed in code, not guessed by a model, so line-item math errors get flagged rather than passed along. You can watch this work on the live demos on this site, including one that catches a real math error planted in a sample PO.
That's not what we build. Our systems take over the repetitive work nobody was hired to do, retyping data, chasing follow-ups, drafting the same email for the tenth time, so your people can spend those hours on work that actually needs a human. Most clients use the reclaimed time to grow without hiring, not to cut staff.
Most first systems go live in two to four weeks after the Blueprint. We start with one workflow, get it working in production, then expand. You're never waiting six months for a big-bang launch.
Your data stays in your systems, we connect to them, we don't copy them into ours. Integrations use each platform's official APIs with scoped credentials you can revoke at any time, and nothing you share with us is ever used to train public AI models.
The free audit is the tool on this page: five questions, an instant report, and a 4-day plan you can run yourself. It's automated and directional. The AI Workflow Blueprint is the paid version: a 45-minute working session on your actual process with a human, followed by a written map of what to automate, what to fix before automating, the real ROI math, and the build plan. Free audit finds it. The Blueprint maps it.
A 45-minute working session on your real workflow, followed by a written map: your biggest time drains ranked by impact against effort, what to automate first, what to fix before you automate it, and a 4-day start plan you can run yourself. It's credited back in full against your build if you move forward. If we can't find at least 5 hours a week worth reclaiming, you pay nothing.
Because it's real work, and because it's the part that determines whether AI will help you at all. Free assessments tend to be sales pitches in disguise. Paying for it means you get an honest answer, including when the answer is that your process needs fixing before any AI touches it. Start with a free 30-minute call first, and we'll only suggest the Blueprint if it's the right next step.
Every engagement starts with the AI Workflow Blueprint, which is credited back against your build. From there, a single managed AI system rolls hosting, AI usage and support into one monthly price. Custom automations are quoted fixed after the Blueprint, sized to your workflow and budget, and the number never changes mid-project. We scope the actual numbers with you on the call. Most customers start with one workflow and expand.
Yes. We'll deliver the source code, documentation and deployment so your team owns the system outright, with no vendor lock-in.
Usually, yes. We connect to what you already run rather than replacing it: E2, JobBOSS, Global Shop, Epicor, Fishbowl, QuickBooks, plus Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Where a system has no clean API, we work through exports, email and the file formats your team already moves around. Nobody is ripping out your shop software.
Yes. Our managed plans cover hosting, monitoring, improvements and priority support so your system keeps getting better.
Absolutely. Most customers begin with one workflow and expand over time.
Show Us the Slow, Manual Part of Your Business.
We'll tell you whether it is worth automating. Thirty minutes on your workflows, a straight answer, and plenty of these end with us saying you do not need us.
You talk. We listen.
Thirty minutes on how your week actually runs. No slides, no deck, no pitch.
We tell you straight.
Where AI genuinely helps, where it does not, and what to fix before you automate anything.
You decide. Or you don't.
If you are better off buying a $20 tool and doing it yourself, we will say so.
